Explain the correct usage for the words "shrunk" and "shrank".
What part of speech is each?
How has Disney muddied the waters?

How's this:

Shrank is the simple past tense of shrink.
Shrunk is the past participle of shrink and is used in the perfect tenses.
"I washed my shirt in hot water and it shrank."
"The dieter's waistline has shrunk three sizes in the past month."

The movie title should be "Honey, I shrank the kids" or "Honey, I have shrunk the kids".
"Honey, I shrunk the kids" is grammatically incorrect.
