"Purists please relax." requires a comma after the first word.

The quote is from William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar".

Cassius tells Brutus not to blame the heavens, the gods, fate, etc. for their shortcomings in life. Man is responsible for his own actions and consequences, including any faults and inadequacies.

Not having read or seen "Julius Caesar" for almost 17 years, my wife and I grasped at straws here and wrongly attributed the quote to either Portia or Caesar. Despite being incorrect, I can't tell you how much I enjoy playing the "explain-that-quote" game. I was very happy to find this here.
